This is a booklet published by the Department of Health, which sets out what you can expect from the NHS. The booklet replaces the previous ‘Patients Charter’.

Ensuring high quality and easy to understand information

In addition to following strict criteria and guidelines for our patient information we also involve patients, carers and others in the development of our literature.

We are committed to ensuring we communicate well and appropriately with you and to help us in the production of our information we have a ‘Readers Panel’ which is representative of the community and regularly reviews new literature.

The purpose of the Readers Panel is to:

Involve patients, their carers, family and the general public in the development and delivery of written patient information at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.

Develop an external and independent group of people who will provide a user view in the design and production of patient literature.

Help ensure that a consistent approach to patient information is followed and a high quality of design and production is achieved.

Provide advice on all aspects of patient and public information.
