Welcome to Chaplaincy – Spiritual and Pastoral Care
A service for all
At The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust we acknowledge the value of spiritual care and the important relationship between spiritual and mental health in contributing towards a patient’s physical wellbeing.
All patients will be treated as individuals, with respect for their background, including their age, gender, religion, disability, culture or sexual orientation.
We value the contribution of visiting clergy and faith community representatives, and recognise them as partners in our work of healing.
Our mission is to offer spiritual and pastoral care to all patients, staff and visitors. Because these are people of all faiths and none, providing for their needs includes offering prayer, Christian sacramental support, and worship, and includes providing links with local people of other faiths as appropriate.
We all hope that through the care of the hospital staff, the skill of the doctors and our prayers, you will find strength, hope and inner peace. We pray that you may be aware of God’s presence during this time of separation from your home and loved ones.
