This site is not going to bang on about how every mother should breastfeed, although that would be great! Instead, the site will provide information to mums who are breastfeeding already and those who hope to. It was probably a very wise Chinese man that said, "knowledge is the key to success" –well if he didn’t, he should have! When doing anything for the first time it can seem very daunting but usually, after a while, things click into place. It helps enormously knowing a little about what you are about to do before you do it. Enter this web site stage left! What follows is loads of information on most anything connected with breastfeeding. And before you disappear saying, "well, I’m definitely going to bottle feed," hold on! There are some handy hints on how to care for yourself and baby and, just maybe, your mind might be changed. For the purposes of this web site the baby will be referred to as a girl, just for the shear hell of it! Email us on latchon@ipsh-tr.anglox.nhs.uk with your questions on breastfeeding. An answer will be returned as soon as possible. If you have an immediate worry and you can’t find the answer on our blooming marvelous web site then contact your midwife or health visitor.
Thanks to everyone who helped during an extremely difficult labour of a much bigger baby than was at first thought. |
